Project title: “Scalable system with intelligent sensors for e-management of electric substations”.
Purpose of the project and planned effects
The overarching goal of the project is to develop and implement a scalable system with smart sensors for substation e-management, which is an innovative system solution for substation e-management. It is assumed that the system will include sensors developed in the project designed for Smart Grid (pre-fault diagnostics, detection and prevention of hazards and emergency conditions), e-passport modules (digitization of documentation), and an e-management unit (management of energy resources of infrastructure facilities including dependencies between them, automation and remote management of electricity facilities).
The scope of the project includes 3 tasks of industrial research and development work that will see the evolution of technological readiness from TRL level II to IX. During the research work, a representative model and ultimately a non-commercial prototype of the system will be developed, manufactured and tested. The system development process will involve users, who will have a decisive influence on the shape of the final solution.
Recipients of the system will be companies constructing and manufacturing substations including Smart Grid node substations occurring in the largest number. The users of the system will be operators, distributors and industrial consumers of electricity. Due to the diversity of substations, scalability is of great importance. The project will be implemented in the form of cooperation with other scientific units including Wroclaw University of Technology.
