Technologies for Sustainable Development and the Environment
Łukasiewicz–Institute of Tele- and Radio-Technology is a center for research and technological implementation that combines electronics, information technology, photonics, and energy engineering in support of sustainable development. The Institute develops modern solutions for industry, supporting energy efficiency, emission reduction, and intelligent resource management.
Main areas of work:
1. Green energy and energy efficiency
Design of intelligent measurement and control systems for energy networks (Smart Grid, Smart Metering).
Development of energy management systems (EMS) for monitoring energy consumption in industry.
Research on renewable energy sources and the integration of RES with the power grid.
2. Environmental protection and circular economy
Technologies for monitoring environmental pollution using IoT sensors.
Development of air, water, and soil quality sensors.
Supporting industry in transformation towards a circular economy (including recycling of electronic components).
3. Sustainable industrial production
Automation and digitalization of industrial processes (Industry 4.0).
Creation of predictive diagnostics systems and asset management systems to reduce energy and material consumption.
Solutions for the electromobility industry and energy-efficient transport systems.
4. Information technologies for climate and the environment
Creation of analytical platforms using artificial intelligence for the analysis of environmental data.
Modeling of environmental processes and prediction of the impact of industrial activities on ecosystems.
Systems supporting smart cities (Smart City) — from traffic management to energy consumption optimization.
