Advanced Technologies for Manufacturing and Testing of Magnetic Materials at Łukasiewicz–ITR
Łukasiewicz – Tele and Radio Research Institute has modern facilities enabling the manufacture of Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets of any dimensions, magnetic parameters and magnetization methods in accordance with customer requirements, using molds for the production of cylindrical, cuboidal, ring-shaped magnets and ring segments. The Institute also manufactures SMC (Soft Magnetic Composites) powder magnetic composites made of iron powder bonded with a dielectric, in cylindrical, cuboidal, ring-shaped forms and ring segments. It offers a wide range of technological and measurement services, including impulse magnetization of hard magnetic materials in a field with induction up to 7 T, testing of permanent magnet properties in accordance with IEC 60404-5 (remanence, coercivity, magnetic energy density), as well as testing of soft magnetic materials according to IEC 60404-4 and IEC 60404-6 under direct and alternating current up to 20 kHz. The Institute also conducts magnetic induction measurements (up to 2 T) and Brinell hardness measurements (3–650 HB), and performs advanced three-dimensional electromagnetic field simulations using the finite element method (FEM) with Ansys Maxwell 15 and FEMM 4.2 software, enabling comprehensive design and analysis of electrical machines and devices.
